New remix from Glenn Astro

New remix from Glenn Astro
26.10.2014

Moovmnt premieres Glenn Astro's new remix for JTRP:

JTRP consists of two guys, Jorge Takei & Phillip ‘Robophil’ Morris, from Cologne Germany who have been making music as a duo for a while now.

They started out making a few bass heavy releases on T. William’s Deep Teknologi imprint. Followed by several sidekicks in Belgium, UK and finally landing closer to home on Beef from Prague. JTRP’s debut 4-track EP entitled ‘You And Me‘ on Beef is mix between techno and acid house. But when you have Glenn Astro on the remix…man it just adds a so much additional flavor! Anything this producer from Tartelet/Box aus Holz touches turns to liquid crack.

The 12-inch vinyl will be available November 10th.

Listen to the remix here.

Christian Löffler records dj-mix for Ssense
25.10.2014

Christian Löffler recorded a dj-mix for Ssense;

German producer Christian Löffler's dreamy dance tracks are an exercise in synesthesia: paintings of acoustic colors that Löffler, also a visual artist, combines to evoke melancholy and euphoria in equal parts. Though haunting melodies and infectious beats occupy equal places in his recent "Young Alaska" EP, the co-founder of Ki Records proves that emotion always comes first.
In his mix for SSENSE, he weaves an engrossing soundscape from remixes of countrymen Nils Frahm, Daniel Bortz, and Superflu.

Weval - Something (Live)
Ricardo Tobar - Garden (Daniel Avery Remix)
Nils Frahm - Peter (The Drifter Edit)
Stimming - Der Schmelz (David August Remix)
Daniel Bortz - The Misery Feat. Nils Corssen (Nu And Pauli Vs Acid Remix)
Kris Davis - Closer
Superpitcher - Delta
Super Flu - Jo Gurt (DJ Koze Remix)
Christian Löffler - All Comes feat. Gry (Mind Against Remix)
Dillon - A Matter Of Time (Monokle Remix)
Koreless - Lost In Tokyo

Listen to the mix here.

XLR8R Podcast 365: Gerd Janson

XLR8R Podcast 365: Gerd Janson
22.10.2014

Gerd Janson is often referred to as a "DJ's DJ," but that term doesn't really do the man justice. Perhaps there was a time where the Running Back label founder, who many people still recognize as "that guy from all the Red Bull Music Academy interviews," was regarded as some sort of underappreciated DJ commodity, but over the past few years, he's transcended that notion, in the process becoming one of the most respected DJs on the planet.
Janson has long been celebrated for his residency at Frankfurt's famed Robert Johnson club, but he's also been added to the stable at Berghain/Panorama Bar and Trouw; it seems that all of Europe's best clubs are after his services.

Gerd Janson recorded Podcast no. 365 for XLR8R, listen to it here.

Electronic Beats features Max Graef
21.10.2014

In this edition of our Slices New Faces series on Electronic Beats TV, we meet the man behind the name currently on everyone’s lips: Berlin-based producer Max Graef. His critically-acclaimed debut album, Rivers of the Red Planet, is a wild mix of diverse influences and styles.
His eclectic sound is surely a product of his love for crate-digging—Berliners often spot the likable and unassuming talent lurking in the city’s beloved OYE record store, where he works one day a week. All of this gives us more than enough reason to pay him a visit in Berlin in his kiez.

Check the Electronic Beats / Slices / New Faces feature on Max Graef here.

Losoul launches own label

Losoul launches own label
20.10.2014

Peter Kremeier aka Losoul has launched his own label 'Another Picture';

Welcome to Another Picture. After two decades of releasing music and much longer time being involved with music and production Losoul introduces a series of fine yet outstanding pieces of music.
Being based on classic sound production this release opens a space for a wide range of musical exposure.

You know the high times - you know low life. You can't deny both ways can't really exist without each other. There is the raw energy of rolling beats and basslines with sounds from the acidic realm being presented to the restless dancefloors by true originators' poetry. Believe that.
This is counterparted by jams from nowhere else but the deep. Down here many things you might have taken for being lost remain in the abstract vibe and the groove.

It's all in there. Let's go full circle.

First release on the label will be the 'Immanent EP' from Losoul himself. APP-00 sees the release today, October 20., and you can get it at WhatPeoplePlay and pre-listen at Soundcloud.

Trouw speaks to Luke Hess

Trouw speaks to Luke Hess
17.10.2014

Luke Hess might not be one of the most iconic artists to come out of the city of Detroit, but he's definitely one of the most honest and pure.
As a DJ/producer, he started coming up in the mid-2000's and has released two full-length albums up until today, including the critically acclaimed Keep On in 2012.
When you scratch the surface, you'll come to know some interesting things about Luke that's unlike most of the DJ's you'll read about.
Luke played at Les Enfants Terribles earlier this year and will do so again during ADE at Imprint X LET on October 17. In anticipation of the night, we spoke to Luke Hess a couple of days ago about the legacy of Detroit, his faith and his work as an electrical engineer for the army.

Luke Hess spoke to the lovely people from Trouw prior to his gig at LET / ADE this weekend.
