Magic Mountain High live at Dekmantel Festival

Magic Mountain High live at Dekmantel Festival
28.08.2014

When Magic Mountain High performed live at this year's Dekmantel festival, the show was recorded and you can now listen to it via RBMA Radio.

The trio of Move D and Juju & Jordash make up the improvising group Magic Mountain High. For each one of them, improvisation is more than just creating something on the spot: it informs their whole attitude to live performance and music making.
In this day and age of pre-programmed laptop sets, Magic Mountain High aim to bring the moment back to the dancefloor, capturing the artistry back from convenience and giving the dancers something they can cherish. Stripping each set down to the bare essentials, the group use a changing combination of synths, drum machines and effects, and then perform on the fly, each time something different.
After jamming at Move D’s studio, the trio really came together for good when both parties were asked to perform the soundtrack to 1920s cult film Der Golem. They decided to do it together and have been surprising themselves at various venues and festivals ever since.

Listen to the set here.

Luke Hess' WYS! promo mix

Luke Hess' WYS! promo mix
18.08.2014

"With only a few weeks to go until WetYourSelf's August Bank Holiday special, the team have sent for another exclusive promotional mix; this time from Planet E's, Luke Hess. Regarded as someone who is truly able to portray Detroit's iconic passion for house and techno – a given considering that he was fully part of the city's definitive warehouse party community back in the mid-90s - his raw, deep and intricate approach to the dancefloor harbours the kind of realisations that have come to define his fifteen year spanning career that’s seen him release on Planet E and Omar S’ FXHE.

It’s needless to say that his appearance at WYS! in a couple of weeks is highly anticipated and luckily, the boys have upped the ante, suitably preparing us for what lies ahead with a true slice of Luke Hess himself…"

Check the mix here.

New video from Pional

New video from Pional
05.08.2014

"Arriving as the first video for a release on John Talabot’s Barcelona-based record label Hivern Discs, the dramatic party-gone-wrong animation for "It's All Over" by Pional was inspired by a documentary on Spanish youth culture in the early 90s.
Directorial duo Manson built the four-minute video around Ruta Destroy, a documentary which depicts the early days of electronic music and its effect on youth culture in Valencia. For the flickering video, the team edited 2000 images together, printed each frame, applied water-colours, scanned them and then re-edited them all together.

This new video celebrates a forthcoming remix package for "It's All Over", which includes a "stripped" new take from the usually expansive Talabot, and one from Belgium's Locked Groove."

New video from Schlachthofbronx

New video from Schlachthofbronx
01.08.2014

Schlachthofbronx just released their new video and single, 'Up'.

It's the follow up to the zombie-themed 'Lights Off'-video. Both songs can be found on the landmark 'Rave And Romance'-release which the guys put out two months ago. You can still download the full album completely free on the Schlachthofbronx website.

As their times on tour in Mexico always felt really special to Benedikt and Jakob, they decided to take a video team (100 Black Dolphins) with them as they embarked on their third Mexico tour earlier this year, to capture the amazing vibes and atmosphere they experienced over there. They played gigantic festivals as well as small sweaty clubs, from the busy capital Mexico City and all the way to small towns.

The new video is documenting their shows as well as all the traveling - and of course the fun stuff, like buying cumbia cds on Tepito market and meeting with friends at sonidero bailes, huge block parties in the suburbs with walls of speakerboxes so big and loud they could make UK soundsystems pretty nervous.
Together with the euphoric wanderlust vibe of the song - an instant classic in Schlachthofbronx festival sets and longtime ravers favorite - the whole thing results in a world embracing and romantic thank you from Schlachthofbronx to Mexico and its magic.

Watch the video here.
