Lake People joins Magnet Musik

Lake People joins Magnet Musik
19.11.2014

We are very happy and exited to welcome Leipzig-based Martin Enke aka Lake People to the Magnet Musik family!

In his unpretentious way he has managed in a short time to create his own sound universe, which is difficult to be withdrawn. Not because it is so pleasing, but because it touches sensitive spots without jumping on you directly. Rooted in the vastness of melancholy electronica with a long techno past Lake People today produces a form of house that just because - or despite - is able to overcome the conflict between dance floor and pulled back so elegantly with its deepness and organic warmth.

Publications on Permanent Vacation, Vakant, Connaisseur Rec., a constantly increasing output of remixes for artists like Lusine, Tale of us, Guy Gerber, Maya Jane Coles, Chymera etc. speak for themselves. No wonder that his "Point Ep" on Krakatau Records can be found not only in Dixons Boiler Room set, but also in countless others.

Butter Mix 27: Gardland

Butter Mix 27: Gardland
18.11.2014

”This was the first chance we’ve had to record a mix since we moved over here about seven months ago. We finally got a place together; before that our turntables were on Alex’s floor so mixing involved dropping a knee or trying to get comfortable sitting/lying/sprawling on the ground. Some how moving all our stuff from one side of town to another messed up our 1210s. Fixing it requires taking off all the feet and messing with the internal mount of the tonearm, something we didn’t want to deal with, but we recorded the mix anyway….”
